She is the latest actress to bring GH’s Molly to life

Primetime and film star Brooke Anne Smith is currently playing the role of Molly Lansing-Davis on General Hospital. It’s the second recast for the character, who had been portrayed by Haley Pullos since 2009.

Albeit new to daytime, the Aurora, Colorado native has an array of impressive credits, including the recurring role as Angelique Welch on MTV series, Awkward, and guest spots on Malcolm in the Middle and 7th Heaven. And she’s quite active on social media with accounts on Instagram and Twitter (@brookeannesmith) as well as TikTok (@officialbrookeannesmith).

1. She’s a former beauty pageant contestant. In fact, she won the Miss Junior America pageant in 1988 and was a finalist in the Miss Teen USA competition.

2. Smith attended Loyola Marymount University. She graduated with a BA in Psychology.

3. Having made her motion picture debut as a lead in the Walt Disney film Max Keeble’s Big Move, she worked opposite Scream’s Jamie Kennedy and former Nickelodeon star Josh Peck. It was her second acting job.

4. She’s won three Young Artist Awards: Best Performance in a TV Drama Series as a Guest Starring Young Actress on 7th Heaven in 2001; Best Performance in a Feature Film as a Supporting Young Actress for Max Keeble’s Big Move in 2002; and Best Performance in a TV Comedy Series as a Guest Starring Young Actress on Malcolm in the Middle in 2002.

5. The actress has served as an advocate for Champions Against Bullying. “Having been a victim of bullying my entire life, this is a cause that I strongly believe in,” she told horrorsociety.com. “Kids and teenagers are hurting themselves because they feel so alone and isolated. I believe the only way to help these kids is to start with acknowledging how serious of an issue it is.”

6. Back in 2012, Smith nabbed a lead role in Cinnamon Girl, a six-million dollar drama pilot co-created and executive produced by Renee Zellweger and set against the backdrop of the L.A. music and movie scenes of the late 1960s/early 1970s. Lifetime, however, decided not to move forward with the project.

7. She had a powerful lead role in two seasons of Tyler Perry’s Too Close To Home from 2016 to 2017, with a former GH star. Smith played Shelby Hayes, a drug-addicted sexual assault survivor, while Kelly Sullivan (ex-Kate/Connie) played Bonnie.
