A contestant sent home on the first night of Farmer Wants A Wife has returned to the show for a very surprising reason.
Olivia, 29, who was eliminated last week after the speed dating round with Farmer Bert, was back on the TV screens during Sunday’s episode.
Host Samantha Armytage explained Olivia’s return came after ‘an unusual request’ from the Queensland tutor.
‘I have had a very unusual request. In fact, this is something that has never, ever happened before on Farmer Wants a Wife,’ Sam said.
‘One of the ladies who wasn’t invited back to Bert’s farm has reached out to me and asked for a second chance at finding love. She said she feels there might be some chemistry between her and another farmer,’ the dating show host added.
Sam then invited Olivia to reveal more about which Farmer she was interested in.
‘So Joe, when he first walked in [on the first episode], he walked in with a cheeky grin and I thought, “Oh I’m in trouble”,’ she began.
‘So yeah I just came back to shoot my shot and see if there’s a connection.’
Sam then told Joe, 33, that he had until the end of the night to determine whether he wanted to bring Olivia back to his farm in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales.
‘Great,’ Joe replied, astounded by the shocking twist.
Olivia then joined the group of women vying for Joe’s affections and introduced herself.
Later in the episode, Olivia had the opportunity to explain to Joe her reasons for rejoining the dating show.
‘I obviously saw Bert and, on paper, that ticked all the boxes. And then when I left I was just like, “Agh I wish I went for Joe”,’ she confessed.
‘You walked in and had that cheeky grin and you looked a bit naughty. I came here for a reason,’ she told Farmer Joe.
‘And what was that reason?’ he asked.
‘You,’ she said confidently, making Joe smile.
In a confessional later in the show, Joe admitted there was ‘a bit of chemistry’ between the pair.
‘She’s a good looking girl and I’m attracted to someone who can put themselves out there like that,’ he said.
