General Hospital Favorite Josh Swickard Celebrates His Birthday

General Hospital’s Harrison Chase has a lot to celebrate. He’s off suspension, and he is back with the object of his affection — Brook Lynn Quartermaine. Luckily the same can also be said for the character’s portrayer, Josh Swickard.

Happy Birthday, Josh Swickard!

And that’s because he was born on July 4, 1992, in Quincy, Illinois, which means this beloved newcomer is turning 31 years old today! Swickard worked as a model for over five years — during which time he landed editorial work for notable brands such as Guess and Nordstrom, and Men’s Health — before transitioning to acting.

Swickard honed his craft under the tutelage of Howard Fine and Lesly Kahn, and in 2015, he landed his first gig: “Football Dude” in an episode of K.C. Undercover. During that same year, he scored a recurring role in the series Liv and Maddie. Swickard has played Detective Harrison Chase on General Hospital since February 21, 2018.

Chase was brought on as an immediate replacement for Nathan West after that cop character was killed when Ryan Paevey chose to leave the soap. We eventually learned he did a poor job in Florida when he managed to fall for Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier), whom he was investigating for murder. Good job, Detective Chase.

Swickard’s other acting credits include a guest appearance in the TV show School of Rock and a lead role in the film Roped. Josh Swickard has been married to Lorynn York — a fellow thespian — since July 6, 2019. They welcomed a daughter at first, and then this past year, they added a son. In his spare time, Swickard enjoys hiking, skiing, and volunteering for non-profit organizations in Central America.
