General Hospital Spoilers: Is Austin Gatlin-Holt A Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing?

Ava Jerome (Maura West), according to General Hospital (GH) spoilers, is in well over her head. In her efforts to conceal Nikolas Cassadine’s “death” (played by Adam Huss), she has only dug herself a deeper hole. Ava recently received a request from Mason Gatlin (Nathanyeal Grey) to spy on her co-parent Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), which put her in a difficult situation.

Meanwhile, her co-conspirator Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) seems to be transforming into less of a sidekick and more of an instigator. Does he know more than what he’s letting on?

Is Austin Gatlin-Holt Good Or Bad?

When Austin first appeared on GH in 2021, he seemed like a decent guy. He helped Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) deliver Bailey Jones (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) and he seemed like an overall, “good” person. Seeing him with patients, other Port Charles residents, and especially his interaction (initially) with Leo Quartermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda), viewers could sense he was kind and (seemingly) didn’t have an “evil” bone in his body.

When Mason originally entered the picture, Austin seemed like he was being bullied into helping his cousin with requests. As of late, it doesn’t seem like that anymore.

Has He Given Up? Is He Too Afraid To Fight Back?

It appears that Austin is gradually turning into a villain from the way he has interacted with t he plot. Perhaps he has always been that way, and he is only now coming out as himself. Austin has been around for about two years, but he hasn’t really had a compelling plot. Apart from his connection with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), viewers haven’t learned much about his background outside the fact that his relationship with Maxie was short-lived.

The way he’s been instructing Ava as late to turn on Sonny, almost manipulating her into doing it seems like he knows more than he’s revealing. He also came up with the idea to get the nanny fired. Plus, him trying to convince Laura Collins (Genie Francis) against her trip to Russia was far over the top. It may be because Mason’s boss has hurt Austin so many times that he’s afraid to fight back. But it also might be because he knows more than he’s letting on and he’s been involved in a lot more than Ava or the GH viewers have seen.
