Home And Away Fans Divided Over Dramatic Storyline: ‘Gone On Too Long’

Home and Away fans are a little tired of one of the show’s ongoing storylines playing out, as former lovebirds Eden Fowler and Cash Newman navigate their breakup and grief after the death of Cash’s sister and Eden’s bestie, Felicity Newman. Cash dumped his former fiancée just after Felicity’s funeral, pushing her away by using the excuse that, well, everyone he loves dies or leaves him somehow.

Now it’s been a good month or so since Home and Away fans were left devastated by Flick’s death, in normal people time, it’d be understandable that Eden and Cash are still grieving. But in fictional storyline time, fans are getting a little fed up with the ongoing “will they or won’t they get back together?” saga.

Taking to a Facebook fan group after Tuesday night’s episode was teased, with a drunk Eden going to go talk to Cash, one fan ranted, “It’s gone on too long now, writers are stretching this out….where are they going with this now?”

Home and Away fans debate if storyline has dragged too much

In the comments section, fans debated amongst themselves whether the storyline had dragged on too much and whether Eden and Cash should get back together or not. You know the old saying… if his name starts with any letter of the alphabet, it’s time to dump him, sis!

“Cash needs to wake up to himself and see sense and get back together with Eden,” one fan ranted. “He must still love her, how can he just turn his feelings off?”

“Do you think grief last a few days?” someone else counter-argued. “You also know you don’t have to watch it if it’s dragging on.”

“It’s Summer Bay, time doesn’t exist,” someone retorted.

“Cash needs to go back to work and get on with his life… he cannot keep pushing Eden away… she’s lost her friend also,” another fan said, though someone else passionately disagreed.

“Stop being a leech Eden you can’t force him to be with you,’ they said. “Let him come to you when he deals with his grief, if it’s meant to be, it will work itself out.”
