Harper shakily recovers from her fainting spell while a concerned Tane hovers nearby. Dana and Alf pass them on their return from the beach.
Later, Dana finally gets Harper to admit the cause of her hesitation over breaking the news of her pregnancy. Harper points out that Tane wants to be a dad so badly, so the moment he knows about his baby, she’ll lose the ability to decide what happens next. Dana is supportive and promises that Harper’s secret is safe with her.
Perri announces to Tane that he’s moving in for good. Later, they have lunch with Harper and Perri notices a vibe between the two.
Meanwhile, Irene returns to Summer Bay in a much better mood, no longer fazed by the article. She claims to have turned a corner and offers to shout Leah and Marilyn dinner. But at dinner, they find that turning the corner didn’t mean what they thought, and Irene pours herself a generous glass of wine.
Irene continues to defend herself, explaining that it’s time to stop punishing herself. She finishes her wine in a big gulp and goes for another round.
Elsewhere, Dana arrives at Xander’s place to find a romantic table setting. She’s touched by the gesture but is mildly annoyed, as he’s supposed to be resting. Bree attempts to sneak past, but Xander’s prying causes her to admit that she had a fight with Remi – but they’re not exes anymore.
Dana and Xander sideline their date night to hear about Bree’s rekindled love life. Dana resonates with Bree’s feeling of tender-heartedness for Remi at a low point, and likens it to her experience with Xander and his accident.
The next day, Xander is closed off, feeling uncomfortable with the idea that Dana only got back with him because of the accident. Xander suggests that maybe they’re wasting their time, as they shouldn’t be together for the wrong reasons. Dana decompresses over a few mimosas with Irene. Tipsy, she heads back to continue arguing her case. Irene is left alone with the bottle.
Bree and Remi struggle to talk about their newly public relationship. Remi wants her to admit she’s having second thoughts but she shuts him down.
Later, Remi vents while Theo muses about history repeating itself. Bree and Remi decide to talk it out, and he admits that he wants the world to know that they’re together. She’s scared that they won’t work out if it’s not private, but she admits that all she really wants is a future with him. He wants that too.
