Home And Away’s Ada Nicodemou Reveals The Chilling Fear She Has For Her 12-Year-Old Son

Ada Nicodemou has revealed she fears giving her young son Johnas his own phone and access to social media.

The Home and Away star, 47, has admitted she’ll be providing her 12-year-old son a phone when he starts high school next year – but she’s concerned about the bullying which occurs online.

Ada explained she has a ‘love, hate relationship’ with social media because she finds it addictive.

She admitted she tries to ignore negative comments from trolls but they do have an impact on her occasionally.

‘I really feel for kids. Trying to navigate this as he (Johnas) gets older will be hard,’ the actress told news.com.au.

Ada also warned parents that it’s better to keep kids ‘off social media’ for as long as possible.

The actress is supporting Unplug24, a campaign to boycott networking platforms for 24 hours on October 24.

The camp aign was set up by Wayne Holdsworth who found his son Mac, 17, dead in their Melbourne home after online trolls tricked him into a sextortion scam via social media.

The soap star shares her son Johnas with ex-husband Chrys Xipolitas who she was married to for nine years.

They reportedly split briefly in 2010 before reconciling and welcoming their child together in August 2012.

Ada went on to split from Chrys for good and dated businessman Adam Rigby for about eight years before they broke up in 2023.

She then began dating co-star James Stewart following his divorce from Sarah Roberts in March this year.

The Home and Away on-screen lovebirds were first linked in real life when they were seen sharing a kiss on Anzac Day.

Ada finally broke on their relationship in July as she confirmed she is dating her longtime co-star James, 48, describing their romance as ‘unexpected’.

‘Jimmy and I are together, yes. It’s only early days. It’s very recent and very unexpected. I’m super happy. It’s really lovely,’ she told Stellar Magazine.
