NCIS: Los Angeles will end its 14-year run this season, according to CBS, and star Chris O’Donnell has spoken out. For the first time in months, the actor took to Instagram to reflect on the show’s epic run. The photo he shared shows O’Donnell standing on the set of the show with co-star LL Cool J.
“What an incredible 14-year ride with my @ncisla family,” O’Donnell wrote alongside the photo. “I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of our incredible fans who tuned in every week. “On to the next exciting adventure!” The image has received over 13,000 likes and hundreds of comments from fans.
LL Cool J also took to Instagram to inform fans of the news. He shared a cast photo along with a news headline. “After 14 seasons, now is the perfect time to end ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ on top!” wrote LL. “I look forward to continuing my fruitful partnership with CBS. They contributed to our series B round and joined forces with [Cool J’s company] Rock The Bells! More exciting announcements and dates are on their way!”
Cast members of ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ join Chris O’Donnell in response to the show’s cancellation.
Eric Christian Olsen expressed a range of emotions in response to the news. He joined NCIS: Los Angeles as Marty Deeks near the end of Season 1 and has been a key player ever since. “What a spectacular journey we all shared,” he wrote on Instagram. Other actors from the NCIS universe also commented on the news. “It’s been a GREAT ride man,” said Brian Dietzen, who plays Jimmy Palmer in the flagship series and has had experience with LA cast members while both shows did a crossover. Congratulations to everyone.”
Daniela Ruah, who has been a part of NCIS: LA since its inception with LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell, spoke about how much the show has influenced her life. “From season one to fourteen, from 24 to 39, it has been an absolute dream,” she wrote. “There are so many emotions to process and so many words to say. I’ll save them for another time… I’m so thankful to be a part of the NCISLA family. Because of all of you, the show has lasted this long.”
Undeniably, the cast adores one another and their beloved series, which celebrated its 300th episode last year. Even though the journey is nearly over, there is still much more to come before we say our final goodbyes to NCIS: LA. The show will continue to air until its grand finale on May 14th.
NCIS: Los Angeles, which premiered in 2009, is the second installment of the popular NCIS franchise. NCIS: New Orleans, which aired from 2014 to 2021, was the series that followed. NCIS: Hawaii followed, premiering in 2021. NCIS: Sydney, another spin-off, will premiere later this year.
