NCIS: Tony & Ziva Actors Reunite With Former Co-Star Two Decades Later

NCIS franchise stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo had a fun reunion with former co-star Sasha Alexander. The reunion, which was posted on social media, came nearly two full decades after Alexander’s character was killed off.

In NCIS, Weatherly and de Pablo respectively played Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David. The characters are going to be front and center in their own upcoming spinoff series that’s in the works for a streaming release on Paramount+. Additionally, the two have launched a rewatch podcast for NCIS, and they’ve been revisiting classic episodes of the show. This led to inviting Alexander as a guest, and images of the reunion can be seen in the post below.

Alexander played the role of Kate Todd, a character who was killed off in the Season 2 finale that aired in 2005. Her image was briefly shown in the 1000th episode of the NCIS franchise that referred to deceased characters from the past. The callback was understandable, given how Kate’s death was one of the biggest shockers of the series, especially that early into the show. Alexander later stated how it was her idea to leave the show.

Sasha Alexander Chose to Leave NCIS

“People don’t realize that on a network show, you make 24 episodes a year — that’s 10 and a half months a year, 17 hours a day. It’s hardcore,” she told TV Guide in 2012.

Another fun reunion recently took place with NCIS family members. Six years after Pauley Perrette left the series, she reunited with NCIS actor Brian Dietzen, who plays Jimmy Palmer. Joined by Criminal Minds: Evolution star Kirsten Vangsness, the group shared the reunion photos online with Perrette making the joke, “NO CRIME WAS COMMITTED HERE!”

The franchise is still moving forward, as NCIS is still going strong, recently scoring a renewal. The Australian spinoff, NCIS: Sydney, has also been renewed, while a prequel series, NCIS: Origins, will premiere on TV this fall. Unfortunately, NCIS: Hawai’i wasn’t so lucky, as that show was canceled. As for NCIS: Tony & Ziva, production is very soon to start on the series, which will be set in Europe.

“I expect intrigue, romance, the background of Europe. Impossible situations that will make our life very complicated, but, somehow, a little something about love,” de Pablo teased of the series.

A premiere date hasn’t yet been announced for NCIS: Tony & Ziva.
