Vanderpump Rules’ Katie Maloney showed off the spruced-up outside of her and Ariana Madix’s sandwich shop.

Over the past year, Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney have been hard at work trying to open their sandwich shop, Something About Her. The Vanderpump Rules cast members, however, have experienced several setbacks in the process, mainly related to permits and “so much logistical red tape,” as Ariana pointed out on Season 11, Episode 5, of Vanderpump Rules.

More recently, as the ladies are beginning to see “the light at the end of the tunnel,” Katie is revealing new details on the exterior, sharing an image of the Something About Her sign on May 6 and then, on May 16, showing how the yellow-and-white awning made its return.

“We have awning!” Katie gushed over the Instagram Story snap, showing the colorful awning’s stunning layout over the shop’s black-and-white exterior facade.

As you can see in the image below, from Vanderpump Rules Season 11, Episode 1, which aired on January 30, the exterior of Something About Her previously featured an outdoor patio and seating area with an extended awning overhead.

Due to permit issues with the city, the ladies had to break down the front patio and restructure the signage and awning placement.

Now that they seemingly fixed those issues, it appears the sign is in a new place, the awning is back, and the ladies are closer to opening than ever.

To celebrate, following her awning photo, Katie shared an adorably funny photo of herself and Ariana gearing up for the opening, writing, “It’s almost sandwich time…one more week.”

Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix detail their permit issues with Something About Her

On a February episode of The Nikki & Brie Show podcast, Katie gave fans a status update on Something About Her, sharing more details about those pesky permits that got in the way of her and Ariana opening up the shop.

“Finally, we do have all the permits that we needed in order to get the final one,” she shared at the time. “We just needed all those physical copies before they would come out and do the final walkthrough that we need. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s just having to be patient… We just had to be patient and just kind of like roll with the punches and just like, take things as they come and just kind of get it done.”

She added, “You want to make sure that you’re doing everything that’s required of you. You don’t wanna get fined. You don’t want to go through all this just to close. It would be awful.”

Now that they’re closer to opening, Katie beamed, “It is not easy, but we’re so excited. It’s gonna be so great.”
